Arctic Youth is a mini-series film project, spread across 8 countries located above the Arctic Circle: Greenland, Canada, USA, Russia, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland.

Teenagers and young adults who live in the Arctic will be invited onboard some of the best expedition sailing yachts in the world, and provided with opportunities to explore their countries, and understand better the importance of preserving the Arctic nature. They will also learn about good seamanship in polar waters.

Arctic Yachts will organize 9 expeditions and invite the Youth from the Arctic communities to participate free of charge.  They will explore their own land and sea, but also far away territories, as the final trip will be in Svalbard – a treaty country – with mixed crew of one representative of each of 8 countries.

Participants will be selected during an open contest, via submitting 1 minute videos where they explain why Arctic nature is important to them and why we should preserve it. The only criteria to enter the contest is a proof of residence within the Arctic Circle, and age: 18-24 years old.

Public will vote for their favorite videos, and the top 10 (of each of 8 countries) with highest number of votes will be interviewed by the director and expedition leader, who will select the 6 participants for the expedition in their home country, and 1 for the final expedition in Svalbard.
